Yards & Driveways

Yard Guidelines

  • Please be sure you are not planting trees, shrubs or flowers in the Borough's 50-foot right of way.
  • Mowing along the roadways generally begins in May and usually runs until the end of October. Keep basketball hoops, toys, bicycles and vehicles out from along the roads and Borough right of ways.

Driveway Guidelines

  • Driveway Permits are required when doing maintenance repairs or placing concrete or asphalt on your existing driveways. A review is required prior to any work and a final inspection is necessary upon completion. For applications, or to schedule an inspection, contact the Borough Office at (717) 642-8269.
  • All residents are responsible for maintaining their driveway pipe and apron area. If you need assistance, do not hesitate to call us and we will try to help or refer you in a direction of someone who can.
  • Do not place yard debris (leaves, grass clipping, brush, etc.) in the drainage ditches. This could clog the driveway pipes and cause damage to your driveway and the streets.
